Any additions to my Drumset? So should I invest in an amp?
Long story short, I'm finally a group that I spoke with my friends doing well over a year (it is a metal strip). I am currently looking on craigslist for a single full sized kit (2 toms, ride, hi-hat, snare drum, bass drum and) and want to know what additions I should make after getting it. The only things I could think of was to get double bass pedal and of course a crash cymbal, a cymbal splash, and possibly a third or fourth vol. Just to clear things up I made percussion for 6 years and know what I do-Anywho, I do not know if I should invest in an amp, because after a few months of playing, I am sure that hell is sure to get some concerts. I thought I would get an amp for live shows and shit for volume, but I'm not sure if I should get one or not. I will also be secondary vocals.
You will not need an amp. If you play anywhere large enough to justify taking his battery you can also use the PA system. Double Bass Drums are de rigueur for metal bands. I love rototoms also so you can really fill time.
