is tap water safe for deep wound?
I cut my finger tip off and the PN at New York Hospital put 3 stitches on it. Then she asked me to rinse my finger under tap water. Is it safe to do so?
Yes it is. The Cochrane Collaborative did a review and found that tap water is generally fine to clean a wound. The exception would be well water, which often have microbes in it.
